Central Plains Cycling is excited to present the 2012 Canton Cycling Classic - August 25-26th in Canton, SD. Race is a 3-stage Omnium format with $5000 CASH PAYOUT

Stage Highlights:
-- Saturday Morning - Canton TT – 10.4 mile race against the clock
-- Saturday Afternoon – Canton Criterium – 0.8 mile course with 10 corners and an uphill drag finish located next to city park with festival activities and live music
-- Sunday – Newton Hills Road Race – 18 mile course through the scenic Newton Hills serving up lung searing climbs and 50mph descents

Team Gas $$$ Challenge
Central Plains Cycling will be rewarding the teams with the most number of team riders pre-registered at the close of registration - 6:00pm Friday 8/24. Riders will be tallied whether registered for only 1 event or the entire weekend. Be sure team names are included on the registration forms. This offer excludes the host CPC team.
--1st PLACE: $250 Gasoline Certificates
--2nd PLACE: $150 Gasoline Certificates
--3rd PLACE: $100 Gasoline Certificates
Gasoline certificates will be distributed to 1 team member at Registration who can distribute to the team members. The certificates are in $25 increments and can be used at Pump-N-Pak in the city of Canton.

Canton, SD (just south of Sioux Falls) is an easy dive down I-35 and Across I-90. A $5000 Cash Purse, Omnium Overall Champion Trophies, Gas $$$ and challenging courses should make it worth your time.

Have to agree with Timmer here. Dustin your event was awesome. So well run, great courses, and great atmosphere. I am still dealing with the shock of how quickly registration went, and the fact that like within like 30min of the end of an event I got a personal email with the results from the race and the latest Omnium standings.

For sure will, look to be back next year and I hope it continues to grow for you.

Out of curiousity, did the women's races really get run with men's races as it appears on the flyer?

There was one woman there who very much did not want to race with the men. As a group, we agreed to have our own criterium race and not race with the Cat 4 men as planned. However, we did race with the Cat 4 guys for Sunday's road race. I don't recall if that's how it was supposed to be, but I think that was the preference of most of the women there.
