It seems to me a lot of guys racing on the national level are using performance enhancing drugs. According to some of the national websites, a big bust will be coming down shortly. Those guys are totally wrong for taking drugs. However, someone who's around 40 years of age, basically races locally and isn't going anywhere... I mean... You don't owe all of us an apology... You do owe an apology to all of the local Cat 1 and Cat 2 racers. You owe an apology to all of the race organizers and race officials. You owe an apology to anyone who supported you. You don't owe me an apology. Once you were busted in South America, my mind was made up. You've heard the saying; 'fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...' When you won a local race, it was like the Vikings losing on Sunday, the Twins losing to the Yankees, Vino winning Liege-Bastogne-Liege (where my father was in December 1944 and January 1945), "Top Cat" getting canceled and Timmer coming in 2nd in a time trial...

Hang in there man, you've been through worse...I mean cornering in a crit with a colo bag....well...suffice to say you weren't the only one thinking about it, but you had to live it.
But really, at our age, turn the page, hit the trails hard, hit the training rides hard, stay fit, keep your mind and body together and you'll be ok. You owe it to yourself.
No apologies necessary for me, just keep on keeping on. See you on the road, there or here.

Frye, you've got to realize, I grew up with nuns teaching me as a child at school and then catholic parents at home in the 60s... Shame was a very useful tool for teachers and parents... We weren't nice to jerks. We'd shame, ostracize and beat them up... Ohhh! The good old days... You and most of the younger guys racing these days had Kick ball games in school where nobody won, parents that said; "It's okay little Andy, we won't hold you accountable for stealing the neighbor kid's bike." and stuff like that. Old habits are hard to break... Bring on the shame! Let's keep piling it on!

Jerk: a) an annoyingly stupid or foolish person. b) an unlikable person; especially : one who is cruel, rude, or small-minded. Who's the jerk here? Tegaderm, go ahead and keep being an ass if you lack appropriate interpersonal skills and want to blame your upbringing. Seems like you've had a few years to formulate your own thoughts. I don't condone what Dewey and others have done. I do find his posting to be honest and sincere and don't feel he needs any help from you or anyone else to feel shame. Do you think he's not being punished enough? Have a little compassion. You don't know squat about how my values and beliefs were formed, but ignorance is bliss. Hope you're happy.

Like, maybe the 700-some-odd licensed racers in Minnesota who don't have a positive doping control test on their record?
what results?
