General Description

The purpose of the TTY competition is to encourage track riders to compete in the road time trials and road riders to compete in the track time trials, all with the objective of recognizing the best all-around time trialists over a range of distances.

Riders will compete for TTY by posting times in the following time trial races:

  • The 40 k Minnesota State Road Time Trial to be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
  • The (~11 k) Black Dog Time Trial on July 28, 2010.
  • The Minnesota State Pursuit Championship to be held on Sunday, August 14, 2010
    • Men's Distance: 4000 meters
    • Women's Distance: 3000 meters
  • The Minnesota State Track Championship Sprint Time Trial to be held on Sunday, August 14, 2010
    • Men's Distance: 1000 meters (50+: 500 meters)
    • Women's Distance: 500 meters

Competition Terms

  1. The competition includes the following classes:
    • Men Open
    • Men 35+
    • Men 50+
    • Junior Boys
    • Women Open
    • Women 40+
    • Junior Girls
  2. For each TT race, riders will be assigned a TTY score based on their time. The score is the best time in the TTY class recorded for the race divided by the racer’s time all multiplied by 100%. This is equivalent to the racer’s average speed as a percentage of the best average speed in the TTY class.
  3. The final TTY composite score on which placings and trophies are awarded is the average of the four TT race scores.
  4. Riders will have to comply with all rules in place for each race and log a legitimate time for that race.
  5. A DNS or DNF result for a race will be logged as a zero TTY score for that race.
  6. For the purposes of the TTY competition, riders are allowed to use road bikes for the track time trials.
  7. Trophies will be awarded in each TTY class. In order to be eligible for a trophy, riders must post times in at least three of the four races.
